Milky – Pomodoro Technique for Learning
Pomodoro (translated from Italian: tomato) is a learning technique that was invented by Francesco Cirillo at the end of the 80s of the last century. This technique works by dividing learning into strictly limited periods of time, usually 25 minutes, followed by a short break, usually 5 minutes. After a certain number of repetitions, three or four times, a longer break of 15 minutes follows. The idea behind this technique is to teach you discipline and help you not waste time putting off your responsibilities.
Milky is a free app for Android and iOS that will help users gain discipline and work habits using the Pomodoro learning technique.
How Does Milky Work?
Once you’ve installed and launched Milky, the first thing you need to do is log in. You can do this through your email, but it is also possible to use a Google account if you have one. After this, you need to choose your username and the app is ready to use.
The first thing you need to do is add activities. These could be work assignments, study subjects, or anything that is an obligation that you need to complete. You can have a maximum of 7 activities, and when you finish an activity, you can delete it and add a new one.
Once you’ve added all your activities, Milky is ready to use. On the main screen, you will have the option to choose which activity you want to tackle, press the Start button and the timer will start counting down. After 25 minutes you will be informed that it is time for a break, and after 5 minutes that the break is over. After four repetitions, there will be a longer break of 15 minutes.
As you use Milky and fulfill your obligations, you will slowly earn reward points, which, when you collect enough, will automatically unlock new options within the app. With these points, you will be able to unlock a chart and table showing your past achievements, Targets, the ability to set goals, a leaderboard showing users with the most points, and so on.
If you want to change the length of work, pauses, or number of repetitions, you will need to purchase the premium version of the application. We believe this won’t be a problem for most users, and given that Milky doesn’t contain any ads, we won’t blame it for keeping this locked behind a subscription.
Whether Milki Will Help You Study Better Is Up to You
Milky is a great app, but we believe it’s up to you how useful you find it. If you install it and forget it’s there, it certainly won’t help you at all. On the other hand, if you use it regularly, we are sure that you will see positive results. During use, we did not encounter any problems or bugs, so Milky gets our recommendation.
