OnionMedia – Convert and Download Video Files
OnionMedia is a free program for Windows 10 and 11 that will allow you to quickly and easily convert video files, as well as download videos from the Internet. It features a great user interface, fast and reliable performance, and it’s easy to use, which makes it great for beginners.
How Does OnionMedia Work?
Once you install and run OnionMedia, you’ll see a clean, streamlined, and beautiful user interface. The program contains only two options that you access from the menu on the left. All the options are explained, and since there aren’t too many of them, using them is more than simple.
The first option of the OnionMedia program is Media Converter and as you can guess, it is used to convert video files from one format to another, and all popular formats are supported. To use, the first thing you need to do is click the Add button and add one or more video files you want to convert.
The files you add will appear in the list on the left, and if you want to see more details, just click on the desired file, and on the right you will be able to see information about the resolution, frame rate, video duration, file format, and size, etc. Also, in the menu in the middle, you will get a list of all available conversion options and although it doesn’t contain too many of them, what we found is quite enough. Once you’re done with the settings, click the Convert button and you’re done.
The second option is Media Downloader and it is used to download video files from the Internet. This section is even simpler than the previous one. Initially, you will see only one field and in this field, you should enter the URL of the website where the video is located. You can download videos from YouTube as well as other websites or social networks.
When you enter the URL, a search will be performed and the found video will appear on the right. Before you click the Download button, you will be able to choose whether you want to download video and audio or just audio, the resolution in which the video will be downloaded, and you will be able to set only a certain part of the video to be downloaded.
OnionMedia Is Intended for Beginners and Less Demanding Users
OnionMedia is an excellent program and it is evident that the idea here was not to make a program that does everything, but rather the focus is on simplicity and user experience. For this reason, OnionMedia is not intended for professionals, but for beginners and those who are less demanding. During use, we did not encounter any problems or bugs, so OnionMedia gets our recommendation.
