If you’re into web design, you’re probably used to searching the internet for beautiful and unusual icons, and you probably already have favorite websites where you do this. The program that we will present to you will allow you to quickly and easily search a huge number of icons, as well as illustrations and photos.

Pichon is a free program for Windows 10 and 11 that will allow you to search and download a huge number of icons, illustrations and photos. Pichon also includes an iOS app, although we’ll be focusing exclusively on the Windows app in this review.

How Does Pichon Work?

Pichon is a program that will allow you to quickly and easily search a large number of icons, and then download those icons in PNG format. To use the program, you will need to create a free account and log in. The good news is that logging in using a Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple or GitHub account is enabled.

Pichon works similar to the online services we are used to, and like those services, the icons it shows you are not downloaded to your computer during installation, but are loaded and downloaded from the company’s servers. This means that an internet connection is required to use Pichon.

As for the icons themselves, the choice is really huge. The icons are divided into over 60 categories and there are over 135 thousand of them. In addition to icons, you will be able to download photos and illustrations as well. There aren’t as many of them as there are iconics, but here also the selection is quite solid. The biggest problem is that in the free version you can only download icons in PGN format (SVG and PDF formats are locked behind the premium version) and with limited resolution, which will be a problem for anyone who plans to use this program professionally.

You can search the contents of Pichon using the Search function, but there is another way that we really liked. Namely, when you find an icon that you like and want to find more icons that are in the style of that icon, there is a built-in function to search all icons that are in that same style. In this way, you can quickly find all the icons you need for your project, and of course this function also works for photos and illustrations.

Pichon Will Help Designers Do Their Jobs Faster

Pichon is a solid program that does what online services have been doing for a long time and will be of particular interest to designers, who will undoubtedly help them in their work. The selection of icons is at an enviable level, and the only criticism of the program itself is that it will take some time when loading the icons. A much bigger problem is the limitations imposed on the free version. Since the program primarily deals with icons, the fact that they can be downloaded only in PNG and not in SVG format and at a limited resolution makes the free version of the program more like a trial than something you should really use.
