Ada – Check Your Health

Ada is a free application for checking your health condition. It is available in versions for Android and iOS. The app was created by doctors and scientists and is based on state-of-the-art artificial intelligence models.

Functionality of the Ada App

Sometimes we experience headaches, nausea, dizziness, anxiety, coughing, and so on. If we don’t have a medical background, we may conclude the causes and their severity based on our own experiences. An alternative is to ask someone we know for their opinion or consult online or offline literature. Now there is an app that can help us by providing its assessment of common and less common symptoms.

Ada has a user-friendly interface. It is designed for a wide range of users and does not require a learning curve. Its main function is to assess users’ health by evaluating symptoms. You are not restricted to specific times; whenever you need to, you can use Ada to check your health or the health of your loved ones. Additionally, it serves as a medical encyclopedia, offering hundreds of high-quality medical articles.

Ada - Main Screen

Ada requires you to create an account and log in using your email and password. This is necessary as the app utilizes personal data. Once you open the app, tap “Start symptom assessment.” First, create your profile following the instructions. Choose “Me” when determining who the assessment is for. Fill out the simple and interactive questionnaire provided to you. Based on that, Ada provides you with a report on possible causes of the symptoms. The report is generated using artificial intelligence working on a large database of medical conditions and disorders. It is fully personalized as it relies on the data you input.

Since Ada supports multiple profiles, you can also check the health condition of someone close to you. Profiles can be edited later on. You can also track symptoms by going to the selected profile, selecting symptoms, choosing the desired ones, and then adjusting the value on a scale (1-10) that assesses the severity of the symptoms. You can do this as many times as you deem necessary.

If symptom data is regularly updated, you can monitor changes in your health condition over time. The app itself will suggest when to seek medical help. Currently, Ada operates in seven languages. There is also a website, but it is not an app itself; rather, it provides additional support for the app.

Conclusion about Ada

Ada is the result of the synergy between medical knowledge and artificial intelligence. This application has been “trained” and its functionality has been verified by doctors for years. Ada is certified as a medical device in the European Union. Strict rules regarding the protection of personal data have been applied. The application does not share your data with third parties without your consent. Occasionally, it may request your consent to find a solution for you with the help of partners.

One of the advantages of Ada is that you receive results quickly. Within a few minutes, you can find out the possible causes of the symptoms you are experiencing. With greater certainty, you can decide whether you need to visit a doctor or if the problem is not significant and will resolve on its own. The application is particularly valuable during pandemics such as COVID-19 when the healthcare system is overwhelmed, making it difficult to see a doctor. It can also be especially useful for users who live far from medical centers.

The authors caution that the application cannot replace doctors. It does not provide a definitive medical diagnosis, but it can help identify why you are not feeling well and suggest actions you can take to improve your condition. They acknowledge that the field of healthcare faces significant challenges and an uncertain future. Therefore, they believe that Ada plays an important role as a supplementary diagnostic, educational, and advisory medical tool.
