It is difficult to imagine life without the Internet. Unfortunately, it is even more difficult to imagine life without constantly monitoring and collecting our private data. However, it’s time to take control of which sites remember what from our data and what will happen the next time we go to one of them.

Forget Me Not is a free plugin for the Mozilla Firefox browser that contains a handful of features aimed at saving or deleting data that a browser or website will store after our visit.

How does Forget Me Not work?

Forget Me Not is interesting, though not original, Firefox plugin. Like many similar plugins, it brings options that deal with saving and deleting cookies and search history. What sets it apart from the competition is the wealth of options it offers, making it interesting to those who spend a lot of time online.

With all these options, unfortunately, Forget Me Not is not intended for beginners. All options are explained in detail, and some explanations are several pages long. It will often be the case that beginners will need explanations for explanations.

When you install the plugin, its icon will appear in the upper right corner of the screen. When you click on this icon, a clear and well-organized menu will appear. We won’t go into detail about the options here because there really are a lot of them. We’ll just say that you’ll have to think carefully about how you want to adjust your browsing experience.

You can set rules for sites, most notably those related to cookie management and search history. You can also add sites to different lists, where each list has its own rules that you set yourself, and you can change these rules at any time.

We have already praised the user interface, but we want to emphasize that the organization is phenomenal. Using it requires you to get acquainted with the options that are here, but when you go through the learning process, you will see how intuitive and logically organized everything is.

Conclusion

Forget Me Not is a dream come true for every computer nerd. We didn’t find any aspect we thought could be better, nor an option that we missed. If you are a beginner, this is not a plugin for you. Otherwise, you won’t find a better plugin than this one.
