How to Change Your Username on Instagram for Android

Your Instagram username appears at the top of your profile and at the end of your profile URL and must be unique. If someone is already using the name you want, you must choose another name. You can change your username at any time, but the name you choose cannot be longer than 30 characters and can only contain letters, numbers, periods, and underscores.

2. Click on the profile icon in the lower right corner of the screen
3. Click on Edit Profile
4. Click on Username
5. Enter the username you want to use. If you receive the message The username {the name you entered} is not available, it means that the username is taken and you must choose another one.
6. Click on the check mark icon in the upper right corner of the screen
