WHATTAWATCH – Help for Finding Movies and Series to Watch

WHATTAWATCH is a free app for Android and iOS that will make it easy for you to find movies and series to watch, as well as information about which streaming platforms they are available on. In this review, we’ll focus on the Android version, but everything we’re going to say applies to iOS as well.

How Does WHATTAWATCH Work?

WHATTAWATCH is an app for fans of movies and series, and it serves to make it easier for you to find the next movie or series to watch, as well as to help you find the streaming platform where that movie or series is available. The application has a nice user interface that is quite easy to navigate.

There are two options for searching. The first option is Search. Here, in addition to the search field where you search by name, there are four categories. You can see what’s trending, what’s popular, what won an award, and what’s currently showing in theaters.

The second option is Discover. Here you will be able to choose whether you are looking for a movie or a series, and then choose one of 18 genres. You can also choose the year when the movie or series was released. An option we particularly liked allows you to select a time range and search for all the titles that came out at that time. For example, you can set the app to show you all comedies that came out between 2000 and 2005.

When you find what you want to watch, tap on that movie or series and a new menu will open with detailed information. Here you can read a short description, see who the actors are, watch the trailer, see the rating and popularity, as well as where on the Internet you can watch that movie or series.

You can save a movie or series in the Favorites section. You can save 6 titles here, and if you want to add more, you’ll have to watch an ad first, which we didn’t really like. Also, the database only goes back to 1980. This means that WHATTAWATCH does not contain older movies, which we also did not like.

If You Don’t Know What to Watch Next, Try WHATTAWATCH

WHATTAWATCH is a handy app to help you find the next movie or series to watch. The fact that it only contains titles released after 1980 may be a deal breaker for some, but if you like to watch newer movies, this won’t bother you. During use, we did not encounter any problems or bugs, so WHATTAWATCH gets our recommendation.
