How to Count Colored Cells in Microsoft Excel

When working in Microsoft Excel, you will often find yourself in a situation where you have differently colored cells and you need to count all the cells that are colored in a specific color. In Excel, there is no specific command for this, but we can still do this and you will need only a few clicks.

  2. In tab Home, click on Find & Select
  3. Click on Find…
  4. Click on Options
  5. Click on Format… and then on Choose Format from Cell…
  6. Click on a cell colored with color whose cells you want to count
  7. Click on Find All
  8. Here you can see the number of cells that are colored with the selected color
