AlbumPaper – Change Your Desktop Wallpaper to the Beat of the Music
There are many programs that automatically change the desktop wallpaper, not to mention that this is something you can do directly from Windows, without using additional tools. For this reason, programs like this can hardly interest us, unless they do something we haven’t seen before and unless that something is interesting and useful. We are happy to tell you that the program that we will present to you today fulfills both of these conditions.
AlbumPaper is a free program for Windows 10 and 11 that will when you’re listening to music, place an album cover art of the currently playing song on your desktop.
How Does AlbumPaper Work?
When you install and run AlbumPaper, a menu will appear that is quite ugly, and you will immediately receive a notification that the program cannot work because it is not set up correctly. The first thing we must say is that the program only works when you listen to music via Spotify or Last.fm. This means that when you listen to music from, for example, YouTube or from your computer, the program will not work.
The next item is setup. From the program menu, you need to choose which music service you want to use, after which you need to go to the website of the desired service, log in or create an account and provide API keys to connect. If you don’t know what this is, don’t worry! The authors of AlbumPaper have provided a detailed explanation and instructions on how to do this, and you can access these directly from the program.
Once you’re done with the settings, go to the music website you’ve chosen, play the song you want, and the album art of the song you’re listening to will appear on your desktop. When the song changes, the picture on the desktop will change automatically, of course, if the song is from another album.
There aren’t many options among the settings. You can set how the image will be displayed, its transparency if the image is smaller than your desktop, how the program will deal with this, and you can also change the theme, that is, the color of the settings menu. What we really liked is that when you stop listening to music, the desktop will automatically return to the original image.
AlbumPaper Is a Phenomenal Program That Does Something We Haven’t Seen Before
Honestly, we’ve never seen anything like this before. The idea of the program is phenomenal, so we believe that AlbumPaper will find its audience. The biggest drawback is that the program only works when you use Spotify or Last.fm to listen to music, but this is not such a big drawback. We didn’t encounter any problems or bugs while using it, so AlbumPaper gets our recommendation.
