How to Change the Default Data Storage Location in Windows 10

By default, Windows 10 will store all documents, images, music and other files you download from the Internet in the Downloads folder. However, in the settings you can change this and set where exactly which type of file will be saved.

  2. Click on Start and then on Settings
  3. Click on System
  4. Click on Storage
  5. Click on Change where new content is saved
  6. You specifically set which partition each type of data will be stored on. Select the type of data you want and select the partition where you want to store it.
  7. Click on Apply
