How to Turn JavaScript on or off in Mozilla Firefox

JavaScript is necessary for proper operation of most modern websites and online applications. However, since ads on websites run using JavaScript, you may want to temporarily turn them off. You can easily achieve this by turning off JavaScript, but keep in mind that it’s generally not the best idea to always keep JavaScript turned off.

  2. In the URL field, type about:config
  3. Click on Accept the Risk and Continue
  4. In the search field, type javascript.enabled
  5. Click the Toggle button to turn JavaScript on or off. True means that JavaScript is turned on, False means that it is turned off.
