How to Password Protect a WinRAR File

WinRAR includes a handy option where you can password protect any file you zip using this program. When you set a password and try to extract the file, you will need to enter the password first, otherwise, you will not be able to extract the file.

  1. How to Password Protect a WinRAR File
  2. Right-click the file or folder you want to zip and password-protect
  3. Click on Add to archive…
  4. Click on Set password…
  5. In the field Enter password, type the password you want to use, then click on OK
  6. Click on OK
  7. If you try to unzip this file, you will need to enter the password first
