How to turn On and Off Incognito Mode in Google Maps on Android

Incognito mode is a standard option in most modern browsers. This option can be useful in other applications as well. Google Maps contains this option and it can be surprisingly handy.

When you turn on Incognito Mode in Google Maps, a number of things will happen. First, just like in the browsers, everything you search for will not be saved. Secondly, and this is probably the most useful, your location will not be tracked or recorded. And third, your activity when using the app will not be used to personalize the app.

1. Open Google Maps
2. To turn on Incognito Mode, tap like in the video
3. Tap Turn on Incognito mode
4. Tap Close
5. To turn off Incognito Mode the process is the same as when you turn it on. Tap like in the video.
6. Tap Turn off Incognito mode
