Textify – copy text that cannot be marked

Have you ever wanted to copy a text, but it was not possible. Websites sometimes turn off the option to mark the text, to protect against plagiarism, so it is impossible to copy it or when an error occurs in the program, the text of the message you receive, sometimes, can not be marked and copied. Textify is a free program for Windows 7, 8, and 10 that allows us to copy text when it is not possible by classical methods.

How Textify works

Installation is extremely simple and does not require special attention, especially because Textify will not try to install any additional programs. Upon launch, you will be confronted face to face with a window showing the available settings where you can only change the key combination by which you start copying the text.

Textify menu

Textify is extremely easy to use. All you have to do is position the mouse cursor over the text you want to copy and press the shortcut that is Shift + middle mouse button by default. A new window will then open in which all the text will be entered. Then you can copy this text in a conventional way.

Interestingly, when the copy text window opens, there is also an option to perform an online search using Wikipedia, Google, or DuckDuckGo, as well as an option to directly translate the text using Google Translate. This small detail, which the developers paid attention to, makes this program’s options more useful than its primary function.

Honestly, needing to copy the text without it being possible is not something we come across very often, but doing a search or a translation of the text with just two clicks is a great feature. We wonder if the developers should have advertised this option as the main feature, and copy the text as a secondary one.

A few small objections

The first objection we have is as small as it is unusual. Namely, the program does not have the option to minimize the window. We’re not sure why this option isn’t included, but we think the developers thought the program window was already so small and unobtrusive that there was no need to include this option as well.

The second and final complaint is that changing the key combination you use to start copying the text is very limited. We can only choose between a combination of keys on the keyboard, but only Ctrl, Alt and Shift and mouse click, left, right, or middle key. No other combination can be selected. This will not be a problem for most users, although it would be nice if there were no restrictions here.

For a quick search or translation of the text, with the additional copy option, we suggest Textify

As you can see Textify is a very simple program that can save you a lot of time because you will not have to copy the text to a browser or Google Translate and you can do it in just a few clicks, and the option to copy text that cannot be copied in the usual way is certainly a phenomenal bonus.

We joked a bit when we highlighted the search and translation features in the foreground, but we honestly believe that statement to be true. We suggest you download Textify and check if you agree with us.
