Cookie AutoDelete – Protects Your Privacy Online

Cookies that websites place on your computer can be useful. They are used to store login data so you do not have to log in every time you visit the website. They also store your website settings, so if, for example, you turn on a dark theme, you won’t have to turn it back on every time you visit the website. This setting will be saved in a cookie.

These are just a few examples of what cookies can be useful for. Unfortunately, they are also often used for things that are not so benevolent, for example, for tracking your online activity and serving targeted advertisements, which no one likes. The solution is to delete cookies. However, deleting cookies manually can be tedious, so it’s much better to use a program that does all this for you.

Introducing Cookie AutoDelete, a free plugin for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, that protects your privacy by collecting all cookies and deleting them as soon as you close the tab.

How Does Cookie AutoDelete Work?

When you install the Cookie AutoDelete plugin, its icon will appear in the upper right corner of the browser. The first thing you need to do is click on this icon and activate the Auto-clean option. Initially, this option is disabled and cookies will not be deleted until you activate it. After this, each time you close the tab in which the website is running, all cookies that the website has placed on your computer will be deleted.

If you do not want the cookies of a particular website to be deleted, the website can be added to the white or gray list. When you whitelist a website, no cookies from that website will ever be deleted. If you put it on the gray list, cookies will not be deleted when you close the tab but will be deleted when you close your internet browser.

Another handy option is to manually delete cookies directly from the plugin menu. Namely, in the Cookie AutoDelete menu, there is a Delete option, which will delete cookies from the website in the currently active tab. This is very handy if you don’t want all cookies to be deleted automatically, but you want to delete them yourself when you need to, but you don’t want to go to your browser settings every time you want to do this. Here you need literally two clicks to delete cookies.
