Every day we notice more and more programs using ChatGPT to improve their functionality. Today, AI is used to improve the quality of old photos, edit videos, search the Internet, and more.

Readme TTS is a free plugin for Google Chrome that will allow you to enter text, and artificial intelligence will read that text for you.

How Does Readme TTS Work?

When you install the Readme TTS plugin, its icon will appear in the upper right corner of the Internet browser, in the area reserved for plugin icons. However, this icon serves only as a shortcut that opens a new tab that contains all the options of this plugin.

When you click on this icon, that is, open a new tab, you will have the option to register, but this is not necessary and you can use the service without first logging in. The user interface is nice and clean, and using it, as with most programs that use artificial intelligence, is more than simple.

The first thing you need to do is enter the text you want the AI to read. After this, you need to determine in which language the text you entered is in, and a really large number of languages are supported. For more popular languages, you will be able to choose one of several voices offered, but for less popular languages only one voice is available. Apart from this, you will be able to set the speed at which the text will be read, as well as edit the colors of the user interface.

Now we come to the main question, is the reproduction quality any good? In the case of more popular languages, such as English, we really have no objections. All words are pronounced correctly and we did not notice any errors in any of the tests. Unfortunately, this is not true for other, less popular languages. When it comes to Serbian, most of what we entered is read correctly, but certain words are read with a strange accent. Nevertheless, despite this criticism, we are satisfied with the result, although there is room for improvement.

Readme TTS is an excellent plugin and we are pleasantly surprised by the quality of voice reproduction. Sometimes there may be words spoken incorrectly, but this happens rarely and is not such a big drawback. During use, we did not encounter any problems or bugs, so Readme TTS gets our recommendation.
